K. Reka Badger writes weekly garden features for the Santa Barbara News-Press, as well as wine columns for Santa Maria Sun, Vintages and Santa Barbara Seasons. After nearly 20 years in Los Alamos, she and her husband moved to San Luis Obispo County, where they built a hilltop house and now spend time gardening, wrangling pets and enjoying the view.
Cheryl Morris lives on her family ranch near the peak of Figueroa Mountain. She is an avid wildflower photographer and spends a great deal of time in the wild countryside surrounding the ranchhouse she shares with her mother Dot Alter.
Andrea Estrada is a freelance writer who has written for many local publications. She is a long-time Santa Barbara resident.
Isabelle Gullo, a Swedish native, is a freelance writer, editor and photographer living in the Santa Ynez Valley.
Geoffrey Tomb lives in Santa Ynez. He has been a newspaper reporter for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Miami Herald, the New York Daily News and the San Jose Mercury News. He left those places to come to here where he grows iris.

Brooke Comer grew up in the Santa Ynez Valley. She has written for the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Glamour, and Playboy.
Shelly Escalante Cone has been a writer and editor in Santa Barbara County for over 15 years.
Shirley Dettmann has written for the Capital Times and the Santa Barbara News-Press. She lives in Santa Barbara.
Ann Ditmar holds a master’s degree in geography from California State University Northridge and has taught there and at Pierce Community College for 12 years. During the past three years, she has conducted 120 local interviews documenting Solvang’s history for the Elverhøj Museum. Her interest in architectural history grew out of volunteer work for Pasadena Heritage.
Amber Giorgi is a native of the Santa Ynez Valley and an expert equestrian and horse trainer who shares her perspective on horse training.
Raiza Giorgi grew up in the Santa Ynez Valley and graduated Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a BA in journalism. She is a 2010 CNPA award-winning journalist as a finalist for two stories on local news.
Mark van de Kamp is a former newspaper journalist with 17 years experience.
