IN WINE
Presidio Winery's
goal is to produce handcrafted varietal wines with an emphasis on value to its customers. In doing so, Presidio has found that using chemical fertilizers leads to unbalanced wines with undesirable aromatic

|
Therefore, in the Purisima Vineyard bio-dynamic techniques are used.
Presidio also strongly believes in matching varietals to their preferred climactic regions and the Purisima Vineyard's cool climate is particularly suited for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Grisi.
To successfully reach the goal of producing high quality super-premium varietal wines, Presidio adheres to production standards in keeping with handcrafted European traditions. These standards dictate minimal manipulation of the wines and aging in the highest quality French Oak barrels and bottling those wines unfined and unfiltered.

Having grown grapes for some of California's finest wineries and winemakers, he produced countless award-winning wines throughout the years.
In 1996, Lucas, with two of his existing vineyards, joined forces with Retired Judge and long-time friend, Royce Lewellen. Together they acquired several premium wine producing properties to create Lucas & Lewellen Vineyards. In 1998, they teamed up with acclaimed winemaker Daniel Gehrs, whose impeccable reputation in the wine industry for excellence, finalized the winning trio.
Today, at Lucas &Lewellen Vineyards and Winery, they celebrate a seventh vintage year with nearly 30 wines under four distinctive labels. They also celebrate the first anniversary of their Tasting Room in Solvang and the opening of their state-of-the-art winery in Buellton, California.
