IN SOLVANG
ART is so much a part of life in the Valley, sometimes it's hard to see where art leaves off and life begins. An entire day can be spent touring art galleries here. Whether you begin in Solvang, Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, Los Alamos or Old Orcutt, some of the finest artists in the country are within the walls of these galleries.
At 1511 Mission Drive, Art for Living located in Solvang since 1999, has been in the art business since 1981. They represent a wide array of artisans, including local and California based artists. A spacious two-floor gallery worth visiting.
This autumn, at Art for Living, an Artist Reception on Friday, Nov. 7 and Saturday Nov. 8, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. both nights. There will be music, wine and snacks and a special musical selection will be performed by Valley resident Arthur Perry. Some 15painters, sculptors and fine furniture designers represented byf Art for Living will attend the reception, four of them local artists. The remaining nationally-known fine artists are coming from out of the area, especially for this gala event. Definitely a don't-miss event.
